I just love this photo! What a perfect shot of the whole wedding party bowing their heads to pray.
We were married April 3, 2004 at 6:00 in the evening. I wanted a big ‘ole church wedding and boy did I get it. It has been rumored to be one of the biggest weddings our church had ever seen. We had a little over 500 in attendance for the ceremony and around 300-350 at the reception. It’s a good thing the annual FFA rodeo was going on the same night!

Those of you, who know me well, know how special this picture is to me.

Just couldn’t help adding this little “sweet-faces”!
Myself along with my Mama and both Grandmas’
Looking back I can say this was a true Southern event….. tons of family, home cooked food, big hair, and poofy dresses.
The “Grand-Entrance”
The first dance.
All our family and closest friends dishing out servings of Bar-B-Q, green beans, baked potatoes
This was the stomach nerve of the day. My Mamas' cousin, as you can makes beautiful cakes, so there was no question when it came to who would make the cake. The only problem is she lives 2 ½ hours away. She kept trying to back out and spent many hours worry what “might” happen during transport. My Aunt went down to help her make it and bring it back up. The morning of my wedding they loaded it up in two vehicles which both safely made it to the reception site.
This is a close up view of the flowers, which she makes by hand (every leaf every petal) that covered the cake. After the weeding she dried them out for me, Mama, the M-I-L and placed them in glass domes. Every time I walk by my china cabinet I can’t help but smile.
We had an awesome D.J. Everyone was out on the dance floor having a great time and as cute as all the little kids were nobody could hold a candle to my Papa and my Aunt Charlene (his sister…guess I know where Braley inherited her rhythm from). These two can “cut a rug”!

The beginning... everyone is dancing having a good time.
The crowd is starting to turn to them.... watching..... slowing down but still dancing.
Everyone in the room has now stopped and turned to them to watch. At one point someone thought my Papa was having a heart attack........ it took them a moment to realize that Chief was getting down on the air guitar.

Ashley, Your wedding and reception were beautiful and you know I am loving that wedding dress! Also, love that you pointed out that the FFA rodeo was going on. Ha!
Everything was beautiful. The cakes were worth the worry.
I did love my dress. I think our Jr/Sr prom dresses may have been the insperation for it. Oh, I still remember that pink dress and my green one.
Beautiful! What an amazing cake!!!!
