Back over the summer my mom called me and said she had found a dog for Braley. Then I made my first mistake, I had a picture of the dog sent to me and oh boy was he cute. Next I made the mistake of showing it to Braley- what was I thinking? After she called her Daddy he asked to talk to me. Yeah, big surprise. When we ended the conversation he told me that if we wanted him to get him. Several hours later Nelson arrived on our porch. I didn't even have dog food more or less anywhere to keep him. Did I mention he was a inside dog..... yeah, that was one of the things I said I'd never do... have a dog inside. (Side note..... Nelson is 2 years old and came house broken).
Anyway we got Nelson on a Thursday afternoon and everything went well, until Friday. Friday evening I had to go into Gainesville (remember I have no where to keep this dog) and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to leave him inside. There was no way my babies new best friend was running away on my watch.
We return from Gainesville and seems well. Our sweet new puppy meets us at the door happy to see us and then I get in the door good and begin to look around. My blinds are on the floor. Not just a blind, but all 3 blinds in my bay window are lying on the ground.
(Just a side note.... my house is not yellow. It's a combination of lighting and cell phone camera)
Come Saturday morning, Nelson was outside on a chain and Braley, Mom and I were headed to Home Depot. I had been wanting to put wood blinds in those windows for several years and this gave me the "push" to get it done.
On a happier note, here is Nelson guarding his girl. He has a bed now but still sleeps by her door. They do love each other.
